Europa- quartett

Frankfurt am Main, Germany

It will be located on Tel Aviv Platz and will border the “Europagarten”.

The “Europaquartett” will feature approx. 140 rented apartments built to the passivhaus standard, an underground car park, and a large supermarket; in fact, it will be the first residential and commercial building on Boulevard West in Frankfurt’s “Europaviertel” district.

It will be located on Tel Aviv Platz and will border the “Europagarten”, the future centerpiece of the western section of the “Europaviertel” district.
The footprint will take the form of a "comb”, the main section of which runs along Europa Allee, whereby the “teeth” will be aligned in the direction of what in the future will be Pariser Strassse and the adjoining “Helenenhöfe” residential quarter. On this side the plans envisage three green interior courtyards with gardens for the residents on the roof of the ground floor.

The building is being constructed as a solid structure with an exterior insulation finish system; the entire commercial ground-floor level area will be occupied by a supermarket belonging to the REWE chain occupying approx. 3,000 square meters. The four or five residential storeys will be located above and will be constructed in the passive house style with a highly insulated sheath and state-of-the–art ventilation system. 140 rented apartments with footprints for two, three, four, and five-room dwellings will occupy 16,000 square meters. All the apartments, which are intended to be ready for occupancy by spring 2013 will be designed such that they are suitable for several generations. The underground car park with 225 parking spaces will be open both to residents and customers of the supermarket.
